Emil Grass

My wife and I recently travelled back home to Indiana.  While we were excited to see family, the circumstances were unfortunate to say the least.  My grandfather passed away.  I spent lots of time as a child and as an adult with my Grampa.  As children, my brother and sister and I spent many nights in my grandparents home. Later in life, I would go to my grandparents house for dinner and stay late into the night talking, always encouraged to stay longer despite the time.  To recount all the memories I have of my grandfather and the stories I heard from and about him would take countless hours.  However, it would be entirely illogical to discuss my Grampa without at least mentioning the importance he placed on family and the love that he had for all of us, particularly his wife. This is, in my mind, the most significant legacy he left.  He adored his family, placed his wife on a pedestal, and could not have been more proud of his grandchildren.  I loved my grandfather and will miss him-- I'm not alone.

 

1st Post

I was inspired by my friend Dan's blog.  If I've got the story straight, he originally started his blog in order to share photographs and general day-to-day happenings involving his soon to be born daughter with family living in another state.  Recently I have found myself in the same situation-- that is, my wife and I are expecting our first child, and living a distance from family.  So, I thought I would get started now and see what comes of The O.G.s blog.
